Last year when I participated in the secret-santa gift thingy most of the users were selfish and didn’t even so much as throw me a “thank you.” nor an item in return.
I quickly learned to TIER my gifts with something simple like a “Hello!” sticker to start, if I got even one reply they would get more. Lots more.
I found one person in particular that each time she or he gave me a gift, I would try to double the value of it. Finally they ran out of gifts! And I just kept sending them… I got an inventory of “I love you UFO”s and “I heart you” post its in return, anything that would just shower me in gratitude and love. I think I nearly spent all of my sP on this person, but it was so worth it just knowing another user was just so happy somewhere out there.
I still have all the thank you items in my vault. Each time I go to get something out or get sP interest, I see those items and smile. It makes my day a little brighter every time, and has for a whole year now.
Tell us your special luminaire story!
I find it utterly hilarious that we are told countless times, when international items are suggested (or even if we ask for some regard to plot/Token Shop releases for international players, time wise) that Subeta is an American site and we should just deal.
So why is the first official meet up being held in London?
I’ve seen this asked a lot over the past few weeks, though of course no one has asked on the site but taken to this tumblr.
The reason is, I will be with another staff member while I’m in London. I’ll be with Rah and I thought that would make a much better first meetup than just me meeting people in California by myself. No other staff member is in San Francisco. I don’t want to have a meetup where it is just Keith and no one can provide feedback or have a discussion about another department.
On that note, she is coming to see me in the US later in the year so maybe we will have a chance to do some meetups on the west coast after that.
